Trout Club Record Broken!
Capt. Phil Horn's 6.9 lb Keaton Beach trout is a new club record!Phil bested John Patricks previous club record by a mere 0.09 lbs...John actually netted the fish for his long-time fishing buddy. Capt. Patrick publicly congratulated Phil at the last GOFC meeting, and revealed he showed Phil exactly where to cast to catch that trout!

Remember, if you think you have a GOFC record entry:
- A GOFC Weigh Slip must be printed and signed.
- The entry must be weighed on a State certified scale (Publix, Robinson's Seafood, etc.) to obtain a hardcopy receipt of weight, OR the entry may be weighed on one of three Official GOFC scales (see Jay Peacock, Mark Rustemier, or Allen Turner).
- A photo of the entry must be submitted to the club for positive identification. If possible, keep the fish intact and on ice until verified by the GOFC Board.
Congratulations, Phil...a monster Gulf Coast trout!!!
New GOFC President
The GOFC Gavel of Power has been Passed!
Retired GOFC President, Capt. Allen Turner
New GOFC President, Capt. Jon Thomas
We failed!! The strategy was to overburden Capt. Allen Turner with presidential duties to keep him off the water and give the rest of us a shot at the Ellett contest. Even with the staggering responsibilities as club president, this 3 time winner again sits in first place for the coveted Ellett Award. However, the year was an absolute success under Allen's keen leadership. We all have many memorable stories from the 2011 GOFC calendar!
Thanks for a great time, Capt. Turner!!
Our new club president, Capt. Jon Thomas, is a Florida native and grew up fishing the Atlantic and Gulf waters. Jon's past
was briefly tarnished when he turned to the dark side and spent 4 years at Florida State. However, he used this
time wisely and honed his fishing skills in the beautiful blue waters off the Florida panhandle. Recognizing his
wayward path, Jon came to Gator Country and, with first mate and son Charlie, has been tearing up the Big Bend
fishing scene ever since! Jon has some great ideas for the club...this promises to be an exceptional year!!All Hail our new leader, Capt Thomas!!
